Education Course

Rules and Regulations

The approved course consists of: 30 classroom hours

6 Behind-the-Wheel driving hours  6 Observation hours

 Classroom Rules

These are Motor Vehicle Division Rules and are strictly enforced.

Late - A student may be late once, for 5 or 10 minutes, and still be counted present. If late for a second time, the student will be marked absent.

Absences - Each absence must be made up by an assignment from the instructor, usually a 300-word essay. The make-up work must be about the topic(s) covered in the missed classroom session.

If the student misses more than two sessions, he or she is dropped from the class and must wait until that particular session comes up in the next class. This means that if a student misses the third and fifth classroom sessions and then misses the seventh session, the student is dropped. The student must wait until the following classroom starts and the seventh session comes up to continue with the class. All of the remaining sessions must be completed in order to complete the classroom successfully.

To complete the classroom successfully, it is necessary to get a grade of 75% in the course and have turned in all assignments and books.

Behind-the-Wheel Rules

By law, a teenage student can only take a one-hour driving lesson per day. Meaning, a student can drive for one hour and then observe for another hour per day but cannot drive for two hours. The student by law must do their first behind-the-wheel within 60 days of getting their permit or their permit will be revoked.

Fees

The classroom fee is paid at the first classroom session. The entire course fee (classroom and behind-the-wheel) may be paid in advance on the first classroom meeting. Driving lessons can also be paid individually. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy for behind-the-wheel lessons or a charge will be made. Please refer to the No Show policy.

No smoking or eating is permitted in the classroom or in the car.

NOTE: You must get your permit within 13 months of completing classroom. If not, a 10 hour classroom refresher course is required.
