What prompts the name 4 Lakes anyways? Well, you may see this name commonly used in Madison because it represents the four 'great lakes' that make up Madison region and its waterways: Lake Mendota, Lake Monona, Lake Waubesa, and Lake Kegonsa.

As for this story, Mr. Barker had founded 4 Lakes in 1965 amongst ventures upon these lakes, where the idea came about, to bring the town a fluid and effective drivers education. Which matches the overall environment we try to exude today with the training ? presenting a relaxed environment for learning, remaining steady, and being one with and aware of your surroundings.

Over time the school continued to grow and add more instructors and eventually came on board Judy Hudson. Judy's sister was lost in a tragic car accident at the fault of a drunk driver. This gave Judy a newfound purpose and all the motivation she needed to put her time and dedication towards contributing to safe driver training in Madison and hasn't looked back since.
Judy has now owned the school for 20+ years. Flash forward to today we are now focused on providing the best drivers education in the area, mixed with modern technology for teens. We carry a diverse group of teachers that care and focus on each students needs, as well as providing you with take-home feedback, take home tutorials, and flexible schedules.
